New Project ‘Synergistic effects of redox processes and ligand controlled dissolution in biological iron acquisition’

A new project has started which explores the molecular mechanisms of synergisms between reductive and ligand controlled dissolution. It has been funded by the FWF in collaboration with the Swiss National Science Foundation. Our Swiss collaborator is Stephan Hug of the EAWAG (Swiss Federal Institute of Aquatic Science and Technology) in Duebendorf near Zurich (see picture). Prof. James Kubicki of the Penn State University, USA, will support this project as external collaborator. We will soon begin our search for a PhD student for this project. A PhD and a postdoctoral position will be available at EAWAG.
